2020 event postponed until 2021
After careful consideration of the UK COVID19 position; and in the interest of organisers/ participants, and their families safety; we have decided to postpone the 2020 running of the Barnsley Boundary Heroes Ride.
We mulled this over for a good while, and concluded bringing 150+ people together would not be appropriate this year.
Keep safe everyone, and we'll run another brilliant event in 2021.
- The Thornton Family and organisers.
You can still give your support!
We would still like to have some kind of ride for this year so we have decided to add a route that you and your friends (suggested group of 6) can ride and should you be willing to donate your £20 fee to Help for Heroes; that would be very much appreciated.
Here's how it works.
1. Gather your group of friends.
2. Ride the following route on any day between 1st - 31st August 2020.
3. Tag your ride, images and social posts with #BBHR2020
4. Make your donation to the Just Giving Page
5. Big smiles all round, in the knowledge that you have had a great ride and help support this great cause.
The Route
Distance 32 mi Climbing 3,689 ft
This particular route is the final section of the usual annual ride, but in reverse!
Some great challenging climbs in our beautiful Barnsley countryside.
It's a great taster for the ride if you've always wanted to see what it's all about but never committed to the 88 miles.
The full route will be 1 Strava segment so your rides will be logged.
Tagging your ride, images and social media posts with the hastag #BBHR2020 will enable everyone to see how you showed your support this year.
Please Note: As you are free to ride this route at any time during the 1st - 31st August; It is not an organised ride and is not supported with voluteers, direction signs or feed stations.
Help us reach the goal £100,000 for Help For Heroes. If you can, and would like to make further donations you can do so via our JustGiving Page
